Clever Tykes is a series of children’s storybooks which initially set out to inspire enterprising behaviour in 8+ year olds.
The revolutionary concept was founded by Jodie Cook, when she became fascinated with the childhood influences that encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship.
This educational storybook series is also seeking to integrate into primary schools across the UK. The series proudly featured in Lord Young’s report “Enterprise for All”, a national government report emphasising the importance of enterprise education.
The three stories follow characters such as: Walk-it Willow, Code-it Cody and Change-it Cho.
The books more recently have secured support from Lloyd’s Banking Group to deliver them free of charge to 23,500 schools in the UK.
They are designed to inspire positive and effective behavioural changes, so they are the perfect educational read for children who have a desire to learn.
We read them for several weeks and a particular favourite was Cho! The behavioural changes were small but definitely noticeable. Firstly, we loved reading time more than before and I found that a lot more questions were being asked regarding important topics. This series of books is definitely valuable to children 8+, and it has made my job as a parent, educator and role model a lot easier.
