Love – what does it mean to you?
Do you believe that we each perceive the meaning of love differently? Do we seek love differently? And finally, do we all want different outcomes from love?
I know that love is extremely important to me, my family and my friends. I surround myself by people who show love and are not afraid of how it can make you feel towards people. I strongly believe that love doesn’t make you vulnerable, it makes you invincible.
So when you’re next looking to feel loved by a partner, but are as single as a Pringle. Give online dating a try and don’t be afraid to find a few frogs on the way. It isn’t always an easy ride on the train to ‘lovedom’ – and I can certainly vouch for that.
I have dated whilst on holidays, whilst travelling around for work in Wales I used a Cardiff Dating Site, and even whilst visiting friends in London. Dating used to be my favourite hobby and talking to someone for the first time online gave me a bit of confidence with how easy it is to meet new people when you’re such a busy working woman.

I would meet up with people in a safe and busy environment, and sometimes it would be dinner, drinks and occasionally the date would go on way longer than expected, but other times it would end rather quickly with excuses. This wasn’t to say it was a ‘bad’ date, you just know when you are not a good match with someone sometimes. I remember vividly meeting this one guy outside the restaurant we had booked a reservation at, and I looked down at his shoes and they had a hole in them. Now – judge me all you want! This to me is an absolute no, no and HUGE no. I knew as soon as I saw those shoes that this was not the guy for me. It wasn’t anything to do with his image, but his excuse when he saw me look down was…wait for it: “Sorry I didn’t really want to make an effort!”. Pass me the bill – see you later alligator! I wasn’t that rude, I endured the date and we had a laugh together but we both knew the connection wasn’t there from the get go.
Me and my partner Wes met through an online dating app, and you really can find what you are looking for online. I found love, but it didn’t come quickly or easily. I went on loads and loads of dates with guys, and there were several that made it to second and third date, but it ended there. With Wes things were extremely different. From our very first conversation online, I knew that this guy had soooo much in common with me, and when we met I could have honestly chatted all night long to him. He was so interesting, and we had so many things we could talk in depth about. The age difference (he is 9 years older than me) just didn’t even seem relevant, and I can honestly say 3 years down the line – we forget there is even an age difference until people like to make jokes or comments.
So my message to you love seekers is…don’t give up just yet. Try the online dating field. It took me a couple of years to find the big L online, but it did happen and when it did – it was 100% worth all the frogs.
Happy love hunting! T
