This beautiful East Midlands county is all about the great outdoors, so it makes it a perfect dating spot right now in a new world whereby social distancing is so critical.
Dating spots in Derbyshire:
One option you may choose is…to walk the moors of the Peak Distract
The Peak District is simply beautiful, and is one of our favourite national parks, but it has two contrasting personalities. In the northern part, you will be amongst wild, wonderful dark peak which has wide open spaces, heather, bogs and black granite. It completely takes you back a century or two, and is as British as you can get.
The southern part is where you will find limestone caves, green valleys upon valleys and iconic mill towns. Don’t forget to take your binoculars as there really are some great views from Alport Height, where you can see for 60 miles on a clear day.
Exploring the Peak District is romantic, energetic but not something I’d recommend on your very first date when Derbyshire dating.
Another hotspot is…visiting the setting for Pride and Prejudice – Chatsworth House
You can access the house, the garden, the farm yard and the…car park. Chatsworth is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and has been passed down 16 generations of the Cavendish family.
The garden is most famous for its rich history and modern waterworks and sculptures, there is something for everyone to explore in the 105 acre garden though.
If you are a fan of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, then this may be your perfect romantic hotspot in Derbyshire. It is believed that Jane Austen based her idea on Pemberley on Chatsworth House and wrote the novel whilst in Bakewell. Chatsworth was also mentioned in the novel as one of the estates Elizabeth Bennet visits before arriving at Pemberley.
You may recognise the grand staircase and ceiling of the Painted Hall from the film, and the sculpture gallery was used in the scene where Lizzie Bennet sees the bust of Mr Darcy, plus you may recognise the beautiful veiled Vestal Virgin sculpture which was shown to make the most of Chatsworth’s stunning collection.
If you fancy being in the heart of the city a little more, then explore Derby and its cathedral tower, shops, nightlife and great range of museums
