So dating is a topic that’s hot on the lips of singles across the entire country right now, and a lot of people are exploring the realms of online dating for the very first time. I met my now fiance through an online dating app, and we have a 2 year old daughter, a beautiful home and four years of an incredible love story to share. 2021 – the year of love – I promise…

When you first start using online dating websites or apps, you need to be 100% sure that it is safe, reliable and not a big, bad scary world – and so many dating services don’t confirm this for you. I mean, how can they? So the best way to begin dating online is to keep it local, and of course, realistic for meeting your Mr or Ms Right.

Set some boundaries. Be realistic about how far afield you can search for someone – even if its just a companion or new friend that you are seeking. I set mine to a 20 mile radius, because I knew that if I was speaking to someone further it wouldn’t work longterm.
FINDING L-O-V-E
So let’s take Cornwall for example, it has an estimated 550,000 population and a majority of those people are young, middle-aged and senior singles who are looking now more than ever for some company. The Cornwall dating scene will be alive once again.
2021- the year of love is bound to be a year that’s better than 2020. People will be able to visit restaurants again, meet up in person and not have to date via video calls and using a phone. Love really will be all around – and Cornwall dating will be easier – the whole dating scene across the country will once again be easier…or so we at least hope.

For the time being, online dating really is an amazing way to start reaching out to new people, and getting excited for what the future holds. It’s time to stop being scared. Stop feeling so alone. Stop feeling bored and locked in the four walls of our homes, and to start living life once again – as we know it.
Dating is exciting, thrilling and the feeling of butterflies is one of those feelings I shall never forget.
2021 – The Year of Love – How to find it online:
- Be realistic – look locally and talk to people that are not miles away. I mean, why would you speak to someone in Newcastle when you live in Kent?
- Know what you are looking for. There is nothing wrong with just wanting to meet someone to go for meals with.
- Feel safe and secure. Dating online can be daunting when you first start out, so make sure you are using a respected website or app
- Talk to friends and family about what you are doing – I always made sure my friends and family knew who I was meeting and where I was meeting them, before gallivanting off for a first date with a stranger
- Use the new digital world to your benefit – get to know someone before you take that first step of meeting them in person.
- And finally, are you ready? – don’t just online date because everybody else is doing it. Make sure you want to do it and for reasons of your own. Don’t feel pressurised – if you’re happy being single then that’s okay too. You don’t have to be with someone to enjoy life.
So let’s find love in 2021 – whether that’s with yourself, a friend, a companion or a partner.
