With travel restrictions being eased and lifted, we are about to go on our first family holiday in over two years – and I cannot wait. One of my favourite places to travel to is Italy, but find out the top places in Italy to visit and be inspired to catch a flight. Here’s a guide on top places in Italy to visit…

I absolutely love the culture in Italy, the views, the history and of course, the wonderful people. So I have put together this guide to help you make your mind up on your next travel destination.

Rome

Rome was our second holiday destination as a couple, and I loved everything about this historical city that oozed pizza, pasta, Aperol Spritz and opera. The stunning architecture, with the Colleseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain are just some of the beautiful hotspots to stop off at. It was the centre of the Roman Empire that ruled the European Continent, and if that doesn’t showcase just how much history the city has then I don’t know what will. The smallest country in the world is also in Rome – Vatican City, and it is a MUST SEE.

Venice

The romantic city of Venice is located in the Veneto region – one of the northern states. This ancient beautiful city was originally built on over 100 small islands, but instead of roads, Venice relies on the transport of waterways and canals – making it ooze of romanticism even more so. The Grand Canal is a must and the unmistakable central square called the Piazza San Marco.

Florence

The city of art, culture and architecture. The amount of museums and art galleries in this city can’t be counted on two hands, but the best of the best is the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti. The influence of art, culture and politics is around every corner you turn. A great place for booking hotels is online, as you can find the most suitable deal for you and your budget.

The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments. The city also contains numerous museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti, and still exerts an influence in the fields of art, culture and politics.

Milan

Milan is one of Italy’s most fashionable cities, and walking around the streets you will be able to identify this very easily. It is home to some of the country’s major fashion brands, and also home to history, art and cultural landmarks. Not one of the prettier destinations, but one that has lots to do, see and have fun with.

Turin

Turin is well known for its Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-classical, and Art Nouveau architecture. Many of Turin’s public squares, castles, gardens and elegant palazzi such as the Palazzo Madama, are hotspots to visit when in Turin, and will give you Italian vibes you’ve never witnessed before.
