I got sent a Wireless Doorbell by Avantek, and wanted to give you some pros and cons if you’re considering going wireless with yours.

The role of your doorbell is pretty simple but significant – it’s the very first thing your guest is welcomed with at your home. Once the button is pressed, you are alerted to having a guest and will be beckoned to your front door, whether that’s to take a delivery, greet somebody or ignore in some cases. Wireless devices can be a nice addition to the modern home, especially if you don’t want the hassle of dealing with wires, and calling an Electrician out every time your doorbell breaks. You also get the benefits of changing your sound of the doorbell, increasing or decreasing the volume and being your doorbell’s own boss.
So when I got to review the Avantek D-3B Waterproof Door Chime Kit which is available on Amazon.co.uk for ¢18.22, I wanted to summarise the pros and cons of going wireless.
Pros
- You can choose from 52 beautiful chimes, and there is something for everyone.
- There are 5 adjustable volume levels, which is ideal for people that don’t have great hearing
- You receive 2 plug in receivers, so you can hear easily from upstairs or downstairs
- Ultra-low power consumption; uses a CR2032 lithium battery that boasts 3 year maximum lifespan
- Plus, it’s super easy to setup and I didn’t need to call in a Electrician to install it
Cons
- It doesn’t have a video format like some other brands, so if you want to be able to talk or communicate through your doorbell then this isn’t for you
- This particular one comes with 2 plug in receivers which is ideal if you have a 2 storey home, but if you have any more floors then you may need another receiver
- It doesn’t act as a security device like some other brands
- After 3 years, you will have to buy another doorbell
