My skin is forever changing. During my first trimester it was awful and no amount of creams and lotions were helping, however, now, during my second trimester the creams and lotions have definitely helped me regain my glow.
AD – GIFTED – Please note several of these products were gifted but all thoughts are my own.
So many women struggle with their skin changes during and after their pregnancy. Some experience extreme dryness, some experience pigmentation over their face, breasts and abdomen, and some see an increase in stretch marks and benign growths such as skin tags.
So I’ve put together a list of some of our my absolute favourite skincare products on the market. I hope they can help you find a solution to regain that glow!
Best Pregnancy Skincare
Frankincense Facial Oil from ACALA -£15.95 – available from acalaonline.com
This facial oil is absolutely perfect for those of you that may be suffering with the dry pregnancy spell. This special formulation of precious organic oils, which are renowned for their rejuvenating properties, are amazingly effective at promoting healthy-looking radiant skin. Rich in omega fatty acids, they are balancing, nourishing, and help to retard the signs of ageing. They certainly helped me to regain a glow and some nourishment back to my face.

Dr. Levy 3 Deep Cell Renewal Micro-Resurfacing Cleanser – £39 – available from cultbeauty.co.uk
A good cleanser is absolutely essential when it comes to your day-to-day cleanse routine. A good cleanser gently sloughs away the uppermost layer of dulling dead cells and debris with alpha-hydroxy acids and rice microbeads while stimulating cellular renewal to restore skin’s youthful glow. This particular cleanser has helped me to rid that dry, dead and dull skin and feel rejuvenated and fresh.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil Cocoa – £6.99 – available from Superdrug
I’ve been using this daily on my bump, and also when receiving a much-needed massage from the husband. Formulated with an exclusive blend of Pure Argan Oil, Natural Oils, Cetesomate-E® Complex and Vitamin E. This lightweight formula helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, dry, damaged skin, uneven skin and aging skin. It also smells amazing!

Clarol Silver Serum – £13.95 – available from skinshop.co.uk
This revolutionary Silver Serum is the first ‘smart’ anti-bacterial skin treatment. It contains a special silver ingredient that kills the bad bacteria while helping good skin bacteria. I wasn’t too sure about this product to begin with, but then I saw all the amazing coverage and reviews it had been receiving and couldn’t wait to get applying. I use a tiny amount and it certainly helps when I’m having an increase in inflammation or spotty outbreaks.

Science of Skin Stretch Mark Defence – £25 – available from Scienceofskin.com
Designed especially for mums, Stretch Mark Defence has been scientifically developed with our anti-stretch mark formula, which is suitable for use throughout your pregnancy. It’s another one that I use once a week to ensure that I am truly looking after the skin on my stomach, and growing baby bump.
Stretch Mark Defence helps to super hydrate and soothe your skin as you go through pregnancy, taking the very best gentle, but effective, ingredients to help relieve the signs and symptoms of stretching and growth – such as dryness, tightness and irritable feeling skin.

VITAL C hydrating overnight masque – £73 – available from imageskincare.co.uk
I’m really favourable of loading skincare products onto my face and around my eyes before I go to sleep. This overnight treatment boosts the appearance of radiance in dull skin while drenching the skin with hydration.
Fresh, energising aroma courtesy of natural orange peel – also the perfect way to ensure your face is receiving its vitamin C dosage.

Peri Prep Your Bits Perineal Massage Oil – £15.50 – available from myexpertmidwife.com
Peri Prep Your Bits is a midwife developed, mum approved perineal massage oil that is safe to use in pregnancy to prepare for your baby’s birth and is ideal for encouraging the skin around your perineum to stretch more easily during childbirth.
This award-winning perineal massage oil contains a unique blend of natural and essential oils to help nourish, protect and promote skin elasticity. Includes lavender oil to promote healing and regeneration, avocado oil to protect, sweet almond oil to nourish and moisturise.
I haven’t started to use this yet, as it is most highly recommended for use from 34 weeks and has been clinically proven to help stretch the perineum (the area of skin that stretches during childbirth) and make it more elastic, therefore reducing the risk of tearing or the need for an episiotomy, and help to improve the chances of recovering sooner after birth.
