We explore how you can use your beauty to flirt and be more rebellious, especially if you spent your life trying to fit inside other people’s expectations of what it means to be good.

Add a rebel layer
One of the easiest ways to be devious and add a bit of edginess to your look is to add a rebel layer. This could be something as simple as wearing a leather jacket over the top of your normal clothes or perhaps some extremely high-heeled shoes. It’s really up to you what you do. You could even make changes in how you apply makeup to appear moodier or darker in some way.
Add metal details
Another thing you might want to look into doing is adding metal details to your ensemble. For example, you might add a stud to a belt or a bag, or wear a spiked bracelet hidden under your sleeve somewhere. You could also add a clunky chain. This hardware makes a lot of how you appear and the whole energy that your look gives off. Suddenly you stop being a good girl with a polished image and become something far more rebellious.
Change your contact lenses
Another option is to switch from your regular contact lenses to black contact lenses. These immediately transform how you look and change how people perceive you. All of a sudden you are something rather different, and that they’re not used to, especially if you usually have light-toned eyes. Black contact lenses show that you have a deeper emotional and rebellious side that is just waiting to be exposed.
Use contrast unexpectedly
You could also clash textures deliberately. For example, some people who are looking to be more rebellious in their look mix camo pants with polished blazers, or they use leather jackets over the top of delicate lace. When you combine outfits like this, it creates a sense of dissonance. People don’t know exactly what they’re looking at. It transforms their impression of you immediately and can even alter how they treat you.
Rebel with your hair
Finally, you could look into being a riddle with your hair. You could either go for a high-commitment look, like wearing a clip in your hair and spending hours straightening it so that it stands out among your friends. Alternatively, you could go for a low-commitment look where you just leave it in a messy up-do or with heavy bangs. It’s entirely up to you.
If you go for a messy look, then you can add more texture by using salt spray. This can make your hair look less “done” and more like you intentionally wanted “bed hair.”
