I got the opportunity to relive a King’s greatest performances in the theatrical celebration that is, Thriller Live.
Thriller Live is a performance like no other, and the man himself definitely is like no other – who else in the world is like Michael Jackson?! Nobody. So this show had high expectations to meet and thankfully, it exceeded all of them.
It’s a musical adaptation of the man himself, the person that has been labelled the ‘world’s greatest entertainer’ and the ‘king of pop’. In my opinion he was definitely that, and nobody could ever compare. This show doesn’t try to impersonate him or bring him back to life, it simply celebrates his unbelievable story – a story that resonates from when he was just six years old.
From his debut in the Jackson Brothers, which was then changed to Jackson Five, all the way up until his death in 2009. Thriller Live really does take you on a life journey of MJ, his story, his background and his 100 million record selling success. All the favourite hits are performed including: ABC, Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Thriller and Bad. The energy was THRILLING in the theatre, and it’s the most I’ve ever witnessed an audience get involved in a performance.
And yes, the moonwalk was included and it was absolutely fantastic!
I can’t recommend this show enough and you will not be let down by the extremely talented cast, which is a mix of men and women. The graphics and stage scene was fantastic throughout, and really kept you on your toes (not enough to get me to attempt a moonwalk I’m afraid).
This show is running at Milton Keynes until Saturday 15th June, and tickets start from £13.
