We are on our way into the glorious summer period here in the UK. And, shops and restaurants are beginning to reopen their doors. So it’s about time we got out and explored local areas. Today we put the spotlight on Oxfordshire.

Things To Do In Oxfordshire Guide:
Blenheim Palace
My absolute favourite place to visit, especially at Christmas time.
This birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, and home of the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. This World Heritage Site has over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland, and is somewhere that just needs to be explored. You can discover monuments such as the Column of Victory, Grand Bridge and Temple of Diana. You can also visit the stunning Rose Garden, Water Terraces and Secret Garden. This one is a sure family favourite, and one we always visit when in Oxfordshire.
River and Rowing Museum
Situated in picturesque Henley on Thames, in an award-winning building on the banks of the river. This beautiful museum explores the history of the Thames, the town on Henley and the sport of rowing. It’s not for everyone, but it has incredible interactive displays, a family-friendly ‘Wind in the Willows’ gallery and fabulous display of artwork from John Piper.
The admission tickets will also grant you free entry for 12 months – so pay once, and visit as many times as you like for a year.
Crocodiles of the World
One for the Instagram lovers and those looking for Oxfordshire Dating hotspots.
Book a visit for lots of picture opportunities, feeding displays, talks on the incredible crocodiles, and loads more. There are some incredible crocs, alligators and caimans to meet too – but don’t get too close.
Including 12 crocodile species with some rare Siamese crocs to meet too!
Fairytale Farm
Definitely one for parents and grandparents to take the kids!
This classic farm mixes fairy tales, animals and adventure play all in one.
There’s something to see, do or explore around every corner including a playground, enchanted walks, meet and greet with incredible animals and a sensory and learning wonderland for all the family to enjoy.
You can also race a rubber duck along the pump powered waterway, explore the model village and meet mermaids, rabbits, princesses and lots of exciting farmland animals. Then finish off in the Beanstalk Cafe where you can indulge on hot or cold drinks, homemade cakes and delicious meals.
Waterperry Gardens
Another truly natural beautiful spot for those dating in Oxfordshire. The gardens feature a 200 foot herbaceous border with roses, a lily canal and an unforgettable canal walk.
There’s also an ‘art in action’ gallery and a gift barn where you can explore and purchase local artworks.
No trip out is worth visiting if they don’t have a cafe – the teashop serves hot and cold lunches, afternoon teas and homemade delicious cakes to takeaway with you.
Hook Norton Brewery
This is a great brewery to visit, even if you are not a fan of beer.
There’s loads to do including meet the magnificent Shire Horses – Nelson, Major, Winston and Lucas who deliver fresh beet to all the local pubs.
Go on a tour of the brewery through the museum, and end up in the bar for a sampling of some of the most tasty beer brewed on site.
Finish off in the shop where you can purchase unique gifts, merchandise and of course, beer.
