Taking a week off work in the summer is the perfect time to get busy with home fixes that might not get finished in a couple of hours on the weekend. Doing so allows extra time to resolve any difficulties, go out for additional parts or materials, and not leave the place looking terrible when the following week rolls around. Here are 4 home fixes to handle over the summer.

The 4 Home Fixes To Handle This Summer
Smaller Plumbing Issues
Unless you pick things up extremely fast, you could get into plenty of hot and cold water fast! Instead, use Orlando Plumber services to get local help quickly. A1 Service Plumbing has a fast response service and they resolve residential plumbing, re-piping needs, and even water heater repairs too. You may also need an Emergency Drain Repairs service which could result in an unexpected bill, so always plan ahead, and put some money aside into a pot every money just to keep yourselves protected.
Re-tiling the Bathroom Walls
Re-tiling the bathroom walls is a bigger decision than homeowners realize. If the walls already have an older wall tile that has seen better days, these will need to be carefully removed first. It’s probably best to cover the bathtub to catch the tiles or debris and avoid damaging it.
New cement backboards may be required around the tub. Selecting the right size and style of tile is the next big thing because you cannot change it easily later. You’ll also need plenty of tile spacers, grout, and adhesive to help get it all to come together for you. It’s a long job, so expect it to require several days if it’s your first time.
Re-tiling also means lots of mess, and by lots, I mean LOTS! So it’s always ideal to plan ahead so that you can clear up as you go along, instead of having piles of stuff to take to the dumpster – or alternatively, search for residential or commercial dumpsters in Florida, or wherever you are based, to find the best dumpsters for you to have dropped off and collected as and when required.
Minor Basement Leaks
With minor basement leaks, using a submersible sump pump is useful to expel the water from the low level. These kinds of pumps are designed to push water upwards to get back to ground level to remove water successfully. If your home regularly gets groundwater entering the basement, purchasing a sump pump is better than renting one when it’s needed, because if your neighbours are having similar problems, then all the available pumps may already have been hired out. And if it’s too overwhelming, then again, use the services of a reliable Frederick MD plumber or water drainage specialist.
Paint the Exterior Walls
The exterior paint is supposed to be better wearing for bad weather, but it’s not infallible. The paint hue will fade in time. It will also pick up any grit or dirt floating in the air which is likely to discolor it with the passage of time. This is especially true when the spot is typically quite windy. When painting the exterior walls, use care getting up and down the ladder. It’s easy to injure yourself or forthe ladder to slip out from under you. Also, don’t skip covering areas where you don’t want stray paint to land because it travels a greater distance than you’d expect.
Lastly, avoid starting more than one project at a time. The first one may require additional time, and then you won’t finish both before the week is over.
