In a few weeks time, we are off on a family staycation to Hemsby, Norfolk – but the question we want to know the answers to is – where to go in Norfolk?

Norfolk is one of our favourite family friendly destinations in the UK, and some places to stay in Norfolk include:
- Hemsby
- Great Yarmouth
- Hunstanton
- Holkham
- Wells-next-the-Sea
For the first time, we are going to be visiting Hemsby and so we have been looking at lots of different places to fill our days up whilst we are staying there.
So here’s a little guide to help you if you’re looking at going to Norfolk this Summer…
Hunstanton Beach
One of our favourite coastal lines in the UK – and if you haven’t been to this popular beach then it’s an absolute MUST. If you’re Norfolk Dating, then this should definitely be on your list as one of the most romantic hotspots. They have a fish and chip shop nearby, plus a beautiful green area where you can sit and look out to sea – and perhaps even have a cheeky snog or two.
The Plantation Garden
Again, another really beautiful scenic destination to visit if in Norfolk.
These are beautifully restored Victorian gardens of 3 acres which are run by volunteers for the benefit of the community. You even have St John’s Cathedral Narthex right next door. So if you’re visiting the busy town of Norwich – make this one of your stop-offs.
BeWilderwood- Norfolk
This is one for families of all ages and sizes. We have actually booked this for one of our days out whilst holidaying in Norfolk – and it looks amazing.
It’s a huge, award winning forest full of fun and outdoor adventure. From treehouses, wobbly wires, slippery slopes, storytelling, boat rides, marsh walks and beautiful food served in the cafe.
This is a MUST for the kids.
The Hippodrome Circus, Great Yarmouth
Every single time I visit Norfolk, I take a trip to The Hippodrome Circus. It’s a classic circus with clowns (not scary ones – thank god), trapeze acts and lots of belly-giggles.
We’ve booked to attend the opening of the Summer Water Special – and we cannot wait. Belle keeps asking if we are going yet…
Cromer Pier
If you’re looking for a break from the kids, or perhaps you’re choosing where to go if you’re Norfolk Dating. Then the Cromer Pier is just the place.
Being by the sea is quite special, and it definitely adds an ambience and romantic air. The Cromer Pier is Victorian and has a theatre, crabbing hotspots all year round, plus a beautiful restaurant called Tides.
