Based on one of my favourite films, School of Rock has been produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber to put wannabe rockstar Dewey Finn, played by Jake Sharp, under the spotlight on the big stage.

So for those of you that don’t know the story behind School of Rock, Dewey Finn lies his way into being a cover teacher at a prestigious prep school. He goes on to influence straight-A star kids into playing guitar, bass, drums and form their very own rock band. It’s a real family-friendly film and now stage production.
The stage show begins with Dewey performing with his original rock band in the 80s. It quickly becomes clear that Dewey doesn’t fit the band’s image and is kicked to the curb. Dewey (jake Sharp) is without a doubt the most outstanding performer in this stage show and really makes the audience laugh, cheer and dance along with him at times. That’s not to say that the kids throughout don’t shine – they absolutely glow.
The children on the stage are phenomenal and the stage is FULL of talented little rockers. Ivy Balcombe playing Katie who plays the bass guitar is incredible – and you watch her amazing transformation from a sweet schoolgirl to a rocking little stage hero. Another child star in the show is Jasmine Djazel who plays the incredible singer – Tomika. She does steal the second act with her smooth vocal delivery.
All in all, this is a really uplifting stage-show which is great for every single member of the family to witness.
