Yesterday was the opening evening for The Cher Show at Milton Keynes Theatre, and if I could turn back time and relive it all over again – I WOULD!

Do you believe in…wanting to relive a theatre show as soon as it comes to an end? Well after you see The Cher Show, you’ll be left wanting more, more, more!
There’s a HUGE catalogue of absolute bangers, and Cher’s career in the entertainment industry spans an impressive six decades so there is so much to fit into one theatrical production. The magic really was born when in 2018, The Cher Show premiered for the first time in Chicago’s Broadway, and ultimately led to the leading actress and costume designing winning Tony Awards.
The musical is currently touring around the UK and is currently playing at Milton Keynes Theatre for the rest of the week – and it’s a MUST!
The Cher Show really portrays the amazing details of Cher’s life, including detailing of her small-town upbringing and feeling like an outcast due to her mixed heritage, but then goes on to showcase how she found success and stardom with Sonny Bono (played by Lucas Rush). There’s heartbreaks, failures, comebacks and lots of twists and turns, but the major highlight is of course, the performances of Cher’s beloved classics over the years.
Cher is played by three incredible leading ladies who portray her during different eras – Babe performed by Millie O’Connell (60s), Lady performed by Danielle Steel (70s) and Star performed by Samantha Ivey (80s). My absolute favourite of the evening was Danielle Steel who performs an incurable ‘We All Sleep Alone’ and ‘Bang Bang’ – it’s a lot of sass, chic, and a performance you will not forget.
The show is directed by Arlene Phillips, the stage design is by Tom Rogers’, the absolutely stunning costumes are by Gabriella Side and the dance choreography is by former Strictly Come Dancing star, Oti Mabuse.
The finale is a huge compilation of Cher’s hit songs, dancing and lots of glitz and glam spectacular.
It’s well worth a visit if you live locally to Milton Keynes – runs until Saturday 13th August – tickets available here.
