Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty reawakens. at Milton Keynes Theatre, celebrating 10 years since its premiere at Sadlers Wells, when it became the fastest selling production in the company’s history.

Now established as a firm favourite in the New Adventures repertoire, the award-winning Sleeping Beauty has enchanted international audiences throughout the UK and across the globe.
So last night, we got to enter a wondrous world of magical fairies and vampires, where the timeless tale of good vs evil was turned upside-down, and a supernatural love story came to life.
With an unforgettable score by Tchaikovsky, sumptuous sets and costumes, evocative lighting and masterly storytelling, the beloved fairy tale was brought to life by the uniquely talented New Adventures company. It was without a doubt, the best ballet we have ever gone to see, and yes – it was emotive.
The dancing throughout is just phenomenal, and I would advise everyone to go and see a Matthew Bourne production at least once, even if you don’t think ballet is for you -I think you’ll be left pleasantly surprised.
