This is the second book of Ilana Estelle’s that I’ve read, and again it is a completely resonating book that I think we can all take something away from.So take a read of my honest review and overview of ‘Survival – The Covid Years’ below…
AD | GIFTED – but all views are my own.
The pandemic may be considered over, but it is something we all lived through. Some of us became fitness freaks, some of us were not working, but others of us were breaking our backs and working harder than ever before. So this personal insight from Ilana allows us/the reader to explore our own personal thoughts and feelings that may have arose following the trauma of the pandemic.

Many of us are still struggling from the pandemic, and this book enables you different methods to help you move on from this difficult period. I’ll be honest, the pandemic was an extremely different experience for me – it completely made my career and I was the busiest I have ever been, so in that aspect – a lot of good came from it for me personally. However, this book resonates more with my husband who switched roles with me and became the ‘stay at home parent’ whose sole responsibility was to look after our daughter whilst I worked in my office upstairs.
The book is extremely insightful as it does open your eyes up to how Ilana dealt with the pandemic with a disability, and also how it affected each of us mentally in very different ways. As I mentioned, my husband struggled quite a lot with the role reversals and not going out to work every single day, whereas I was busy working harder than ever and I didn’t face a huge negative impact.
The book made me evaluate my feelings and my husbands, and realise that none of us will ever be the same again following the pandemic, but that doesn’t necessarily mean in a negative way. I think we all have to come away from it with something positive, or a lesson learnt.
