The summer holidays can be quite slow, and it is often hard to find at-home fun and games for the kids to keep amused, and from climbing the walls with boredom. We often have work to juggle, housework to keep on top of (more than ever with the kids at home), fridges to keep full because they sure do snack more when at home in the summer holidays, and it can be hard to keep them from being bored on the days were you spend them at home.

So I’ve put together this little Summer Fun Guide, which is a round-up of all my favourite toys, outdoor games, and even educational activities to keep your little ones from any further destruction.

Edurino
Discover Edurino this Summer, the interactive app that keeps your little ones practising their key skills that they may have learnt at school or a childcare setting. There are eight different Edurino pals to collect including: phonics skills with Mika, my emotions with Leo, word games with Niki, early coding skills with Luca, and so on. We wanted to ensure that Belle kept up her schooling during the summer holidays, and put her ‘ipad time’ to good use instead of watching Youtube rubbish. Possibly one of Belle’s favourite toys to play with at the moment. She has already asked me to purchase more packs so she can build her very own design of Hogwarts.
These colourful magnetic tiles engage children in fun and interactive ways, they are the perfect educational STEM activity this summer, and will keep their minds occupied as they think of more ways to create.

This interactive toy dog that walks and barks has become Belle’s summer companion! Disney Crystal Art Secret Diary
Belle is at that age where she likes her own privacy now, and she often writes and draws but doesn’t want to showcase everything to the world anymore. This beautiful Crystal Disney Secret Diary is a great way to keep little dreamers writing, practicing their phonics, and/or drawing and creating in their own time.
It comes with a special lock and a set of two keys.

Bath Fun
We have tried to make bath time a little longer in the summer, it’s a great way for the little ones to cool down and have some water fun when it is too cold outdoors to do so. These super cute toys from Ubbiworld are perfect for little and big hands to play together during bath time, and have lots of water, splashing fun.
And for those of you that do have younger children – did you know that Waterbabies produce bath/swimming toys? We took the Water Babies Splash Mirror away on holiday with us – and it really helped ease our one year old daughter into the swimming pool. We also took the Oceans of Imagination Finn Floatboard, which was great for our little one to practice splashing her little legs around.
Theatre Tent
It wouldn’t be a Summer Fun Guide without a tent, and this Theatre Tent from HobbyCraft is just £24, and it is so easy to pop up and down. My daughter has loved playing with this from the moment we got sent it, and we often have to make popcorn so she can serve it to us. It’s great for their imagination, and can be used indoors and outdoors.
Crafting
And to finish my Summer Fun Guide off, I’ve included two arts and crafts kits that we have loved playing with the past few weeks.
The first is ‘Make a Butterfly House’ which is from Hobbycraft and is just £17. We decorated ours and have hung it in the back garden (wishfully trying to attract butterflies may I add).
The second craft set is a real steal for just £7 – the Galt Friendship Bracelet Making Set. This has really helped Belle to feel ready for school in September as she has made all of her friends some bracelets and is looking forward to gifting them to them all.
