XLS Nutrition Shake Diet

What they don’t tell you…it’s not easy to shift that post pregnancy weight gain!
I gave birth just over four months ago, and I am two stone heavier than pre-pregnancy and only one stone down (yes I gained three stone in pregnancy, and boy is it hard to shake off). I didn’t workout due to severe morning sickness and I had a constant craving of Monster Munch Pickled Onion crisps, so the salads and morning yoga rituals went straight out the window. I am now regretting these life decisions because of the scary weight shown on the scales.
This month I am focusing on ‘healthy’ eating and various different options to help new mums and women that just want to shift some weight before that winter holiday. I may be on holiday a lot heavier than I was before at present but I have a beautiful baby girl to thank for that, and she is by all means worth every pound (or stone in my case).
I can’t go out and buy new clothes at the moment (I don’t plan to be this size for the rest of my life). I don’t fit in any of my size 10 jeans (one too many G&Ts after a day of changing nappies and listening to baby shark on repeat). I dread getting on the scales each week incase I break them (they are made of glass). So it’s about time I tried something outside of my comfort zone….introducing the XLS Nutrition Shakes.
XLS Nutrition Shakes are essentially a replacement for meals. They consist of 200mls of semi-skimmed milk and four scoops of powder. It doesn’t sound like much of a meal right? I thought this too but then I tried the shakes and realised I didn’t fancy ‘chewing’ food as I was full. With fewer than 250 calories per shake, these replacements contain 31g of protein and B-vitamins for slow energy release.

I won’t lie, the shakes are by no means what I would call enjoyable. I tried the chocolate shake and it was drinkable, filling and exactly what I needed to keep me going for the day. XLS Nutrition also comes in vanilla and strawberry flavours but I’ll let you be the judge of them ones.
The special combination of high quality proteins provide you with all your daily essential vitamins, minerals and macronutrients. These help boost your metabolism and utilise your fat reserves for as long as you stay on the shakes.
I tested the XLS diet shakes for one week and had two a day for breakfast and lunch. I then cooked a well balanced and healthy meal for dinner which consisted of protein and vegetables galore. I still found this difficult and often went and stared into the empty fridge in hope of something magically appearing. By day three my cravings had reduced and I found my appetite had shrunk.
So in conclusion, the shakes work! Hey presto…I’m down 3lbs (well I was….I’m on holiday in Spain now so NO shakes in sight). I think this diet is a great quick fix for losing weight, especially if you have a holiday or event coming up whereby you want to look and feel great.
I don’t think this is the best diet regime for myself, but for someone who wants a quick fix and a decrease on the scales in time for a last minute holiday it’s perfect.
Stay committed folks and shake away those pounds.
