So how many of you think of cooking when you hear the words ‘coconut oil’? I know I used to immediately think of cooking, and the health benefits of consuming the delicate taste. However, we are not here to discuss how yummy coconut ice cream is (but it most definitely is) or even how perfectly coconut rice goes with a korma. No – we are here to discuss just how incredible coconut oil is and versatile in all that it offers us.
Skincare
I first introduced coconut oil into my beauty regime earlier this year and I absolutely have not looked back. I used it in the bath instead of loads of bubble baths that are ridden with chemicals that play havoc on your skin. We all like a bubble bath now and again, but my skin gets so dried out in the winter so I put a small amount of oil into my bath and it left my skin feeling hydrated and silky all day long. Lathering coconut oil all over your face and body leaves you feeling like a new woman, and that is no joke. I dare you to try it…

Haircare
Earlier this year I was blonde and I am naturally brunette. I decided to get some highlights, and it basically all went down hill from there and I was left with very damaged and dry hair. After applying a load of oil onto my damp hair as a mask each night for a week, my hair miraculously changed. I felt like me again and could leave the house without the mum bun in.
Night routine
I always make sure I wipe my makeup off, and I don’t like to nag but it’s the one thing that has helped my skin stay pure and acne free growing up. Face wipes are full of dodgy chemicals that can cause outbreak galore, so I now use a very small amount of coconut oil and wipe clean with a wash cloth. It works a treat and leaves your face feeling purified before bed. No more dirty pillows too girls!
Childcare
Last week Belle had a rash appear down below, so in a panic I took her to the out of hours doctor who confirmed she had thrush. Thrush is common in young children due to nappy wearing, so he prescribed some special ointment and advised us to stop using soapy products as her skin is super sensitive anyways and strictly use organic coconut oil. Thankfully I had just been sent CM La Vie Organic Coconut Oil so I have been bathing her once a day in this and it has worked a treat. Who says there isn’t such a thing as a miracle in a tin!
Dental care
Swirling a tablespoon of oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes is supposed to bring all the dirt and oil out from your teeth and gums, and leave you with a whiter, cleaner and fresher mouth. I’m yet to try this one but I really should…

And I could go on and on about the benefits, but I think it’s clear to see that this little tin’s possibilities truly are endless.
So give it a go and let me know how you get on!
