AD – Gifted | We received our Origin Super King Mattress complimentary for the purpose of review. As always, all thoughts and experiences are our own.
There are some things you buy for your home that are nice to have, and then there are those things that make you wonder how you ever managed without them.
Our new Origin Super King Lumbarcloud Mattress definitely falls into the second category.
We recently upgraded our mattress after being kindly gifted one from Origin to try, and I don’t think either my husband or I realised quite how much difference changing our mattress would make to our sleep.
Particularly for my husband…

When sleep isn’t quite as restful as it should be…
My husband has been struggling with a shoulder injury, and one of the biggest problems has been getting comfortable at night.
You know that feeling when you’re absolutely exhausted, but every position you move into just doesn’t feel quite right? That had become a regular occurrence.
He’d spend the night trying to find a comfortable position, only to wake up the following morning feeling sore and like he hadn’t really had the restorative night’s sleep he needed.
Since switching to our Origin mattress, however, we’ve noticed a genuine difference.
He’s finding it much easier to get comfortable in the evenings and, most importantly, he’s been waking up in the mornings experiencing less discomfort than he was previously.
Of course, a mattress isn’t going to magically fix an injury, and everybody’s sleep needs and experiences are different, but having a supportive and comfortable place to sleep has made evenings so much easier for him.
It feels like sleeping in a luxury hotel every night
For me, there is one very simple way to describe our new bed.
It feels like I’m sleeping in a luxury hotel bed every single night… except I’m at home.
You know when you check into a lovely hotel, climb into the bed, and immediately think, I need to find out what mattress this is?
That’s exactly what our bed feels like now.
It’s incredibly comfortable, but what I’ve particularly noticed is how supportive it feels.
I’ve slept on mattresses before that initially feel lovely and soft, but after a few hours you realise you’ve sunk into them a little too much. Equally, I’ve slept on very firm mattresses where you wake up feeling like you’ve spent the night sleeping on the floor!
For me, our Origin mattress manages to find that sweet spot – I’m like Goldilocks: “this bed is just right”.
It feels cosy and comfortable when you first climb into bed, while still giving your body plenty of support throughout the night. In fact, I would genuinely say it’s the most supportive mattress I’ve ever slept on.

Why we chose a Super King
Going for a Super King was also one of our best decisions.
With two children, a dog and a cat in our house, our bedroom doesn’t always remain the peaceful adults-only sanctuary I’d like to pretend it is!
Having that extra space feels like such a luxury.
There’s plenty of room for both of us to properly stretch out and find our own comfortable sleeping position without feeling like we’re constantly disturbing each other. Plus, the kids seem to make their way into our bed most nights…
And once you’ve experienced a Super King, I’m not entirely sure how you go back…
Would I recommend an Origin mattress?
Absolutely.
A mattress is one of those purchases that I think can be easy to overlook. We spend so much time thinking about how our bedrooms look – the bedding, cushions, furniture and décor – but ultimately, the most important thing in the room is the thing we’re actually sleeping on.
We spend around a third of our lives in bed, after all.
After seeing the difference our Origin mattress has made to our own sleep – and particularly how much more comfortable my husband has been at night – I’ve realised just how important investing in the right mattress can be.
Our bed has quickly become one of my favourite places in the house.
Now if someone could just provide the luxury hotel room service to go with it, I’d be sorted…
